About Goshen FWB Church

A Welcoming Church in Gaston County

Our Church was founded in 1931 in a member’s home. It later moved into its first building on School Street in Belmont, NC, where it remained

for approximately 36 years.

In 1973, a new facility was built on Catawba Avenue in Mt. Holly just a mile or so away from the original location, where Goshen remains today.

Our goal has not changed since it began in 1931 to fulfill the Great Commission. From its conception, Goshen Free Will Baptist has endured many changes but has not lost sight of the power of the Word of God and His ability to change lives.

Our church is not a building or a business, it is a body made up of many parts-all different but equally important. We are a multi-generational group of people committed to helping Gaston County become a better place through Christ and His love shown through us.

Our Values

There are several things we place a high priority on at Goshen. We know that what we value will determine the impact we are able to make on our community and the world. That’s why we have defined 10 Values that we base everything on. These values help us focus our programming and events to impact more people to experience a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Worship Everyone worships something. We choose God.

Prayer We pray as if everything depends on it because it does.

Kids Your kids matter to God and to us and we’re going to prove it to you.

Missions We’ll go anywhere to reach anyone because everyone’s life is better with Jesus.

Community We do life together because we aren’t made to do life alone.

Growth Spiritual growth is not optional. God’s Word is required reading.

Service God gifts ordinary people to do extraordinary things. You’re needed here.

Generosity We give more than expected because God gave us more than we deserve.

Excellence We will never settle for doing less than our best. It’s what God deserves.

Fun Church is a blast! Let’s celebrate together!

Everything we do is with this goal in mind. When we experience Jesus, our lives are better. We make better choices, we have better relationships, we have more peace, we’re more content and we have more faith.

Following Jesus is not a one-time event. It’s a life-time commitment and we can help you on this journey.
